Longs Peak Above the Fog
Longs Peak with the first real snow on it, the timber below still dark, and a band of ground fog lying flat across the meadow between them. One cottonwood, still gold, standing clear of the fog on frost-tan grass.
Three bands stacked in one frame — rock, timber, fog — and a single small warm thing at the bottom to give the rest of it scale. The fog only sits like that for a few minutes after sunrise on a cold, still morning.
