Frequently asked questions
If you don’t see your question here, feel free to contact me. I’d rather help before you order than have you guess.
What paper do you use?
Unframed photographs are printed on professional lustre photo paper. It has a light texture and much less glare than glossy paper. I chose it because it works well across the range of my photography, from darker woodland photographs to brighter snow and coastal scenes.
You can read more about the paper and other available formats on the Prints & Framing page.
Can I order a frame?
Yes. Photographs are available unframed or framed in black, white, or natural wood.
Framed prints include acrylic glazing and arrive with hanging hardware installed. Acrylic is lighter and less likely to break during shipping than glass.
Why do the available sizes change between photographs?
Not every photograph has the same shape. Rather than crop an image to fit a standard size, I offer sizes that preserve its original proportions. That means a wide landscape may have different options than a taller photograph.
Can I request a different size?
Possibly. It depends on the photograph’s resolution and the sizes available through the print lab.
Send me a link to the photograph and the size you have in mind through the contact page, and I’ll check.
Are the prints limited editions?
The standard prints on the site are open editions, so they aren’t numbered or limited to a set quantity. If I release a limited edition in the future, it will be clearly identified as one.
Will the print look exactly like it does on my screen?
It should be close, but a print and a screen will never look completely identical. Screens produce their own light, while a print reflects the light in the room. Prints can appear slightly darker than they do on a bright monitor or phone.
Each file is prepared specifically for printing, but the light in your room will also affect how the finished piece looks.
How long will my order take?
Every print is made after it’s ordered. Unframed prints are usually produced within one to two business days. Framed prints take longer because the frame is made for the order.
Shipping time is added after production, and you’ll receive tracking once the order is on its way. More information is available on the Shipping & Returns page.
Can several prints ship together?
Additional unframed prints in the same order ship at no extra cost. If you’re buying a pair or a set, order them together rather than placing separate orders.
Which photographs work well together?
The photographs are organized into series based on a shared place, subject, color, or set of conditions. Some are natural pairs or sets, while others work better on their own.
The Collections Guide explains what connects each series. If you’re considering a few photographs for the same room, send me a photo of the wall and I’ll help you narrow them down.
How do I choose a print size?
Start by measuring the open space on your wall. Painter’s tape is an easy way to mark the dimensions and see how the print will feel in the room before ordering.
For a print above a sofa, bed, or other large piece of furniture, roughly two-thirds of the furniture’s width is a useful starting point, but it isn’t a rule. If you’re unsure, send me a photo of the space and its measurements.
What if my order arrives damaged or incorrect?
Email me with your order number and photographs of what arrived. If the shipping box was damaged, include photos of the box and packaging before throwing anything away.
Full details are available in the Refund Policy and on the Shipping & Returns page.
Does buying a print include the rights to the image?
No. Purchasing a print gives you the physical artwork, but the copyright and reproduction rights remain with Andre Cruz Photography.
